Soundwave Music Live on CFUR! Now on 7-8PM (Local Time) Wednesday

Starting next week, I'll finally have my radio show again all Summer. The tennatively confirmed time is 6-7PM (BC time) Wednesday's. I'm told there's another electronica show on the air too which has House music. My show deals with Trance and DnB with some House music as well as other genre's. So anything along the lines of those genre's is what I'll be playing.

As per usual, I'll be posting the playlists every week (hopefully beforehand or, at least, during) here on the blog so if you are interested in this kind of music (particularly if you've heard it for the first time and would like to know more about the genre), you have an ever expanding blog of referenced music right here in one convenient location.

In an effort to keep the music fresh, I generally play things only once a year (unless it shows up on my "Best Of..." shows) so it keeps the music extremely fresh and new for listeners in the area and you can look at this blog as a massive collection of song titles and artists rather than a small collection of tunes that just repeats every week or so.

Since this particular set of shows is about a year after my last shows, I'll be playing some old tunes, but trying to mix in some new tunes as well as there's a lot of tunes out there that I had wished I'd have played while on the air last time or during the time I was off the air. So, as always, let's see where this goes!

You can tune in locally at 88.7FM or listen to the internet feed found on the website at www.cfur.ca anywhere in the world! Enjoy the music! :)

Soundwave Could Return Next Week!

Yup, just spoke to the station manager and it's possible that the show could return as early as next week. The possibility sits at Wednesday evening, but please note that nothing is confirmed. Still, if I do make it on there and forget to post about it right before then, tune in to CFUR 88.7FM or on the web at cfur.ca. Really exciting stuff! I have been expanding my music collection and I've got some great new tunes that I can't wait to put on the air! :)

Soundwave to Make a Comeback?

It could be true. Over this Summer, CFUR could once again have that well known DJ, DJ Frozen IceCube, returning to the airwaves.

I'm currently about to work with the station management to give this show a chance to be put back on the air. I'm hoping for by the end of April that I'll get my first show on the air, but who knows what'll happen?

The fascinating part is that I actually still get people telling me that the show was quite interesting. I asked them about mainstream radio and I get told that they hate it. Heheh. :)

Anyway, I thought I'd leak some news about this radio show since it's kind of been on the backburner for quite a while. If I get my show back, it'll be an all-Summer long show. As usual, weekly for an hour long. The format will be the same - Trance and DnB as the main genres with a few side genre's along the way - all electronica. All this kind of hinges on my ability to get back on the airwaves of course. I don't anticipate it being too much of a problem given the surprising popularity of such an indie-type radio show.

Anyway,
DJ Frozen IceCube signing out. :)

Episode 72 and 73

The last two shows for now. It's been a heck of a wild ride, but I guess good things eventually do come to an end unfortunately. Will I come back in the future? Perhapse, but not for a few years at least. :(

But anyway, I'll get the final goodbye's done in another posting (hopefully) but for now, the playlists! :D

Episode 72:

1. Nic Chagall - What You Need (Original Extended)
2. Toby Emerson - Can You Feel the Music (Melt Your Face Off Mix)
3. Kristoff - Push On (Kristoff's Push Harder Remix)
4. Mike Foyle - Pandora (Original Mix)
5. Ashley Walbridge feat. Meighan Nealon - I Believe (Sied Van Riel Remix)
6. X0-000 - Sicilian Defence
7. Disaster Drummer - Penguin City
8. Fresh - Submarines (Original 2001 Mix)
9. CLS and Wax - Quite Perfect
10. Pendulum - Sounds of Life (feat. Jasmine Yee)

(note: last one didn't air, but I thought I'd include it anyway)

Episode 73:

1. Lost tribe - Gamemaster 2006 (DJ Kristoff Remix)
2. Zale - Marooned
3. Ferry Corsten feat. Howard Jones - Into The Dark (Ferry Fix)
4. Yankle vs. Maor Levi - Travelling (Yankle Mix)
5. Dogzilla - Frozen (Original Mix)
6. Oceanlab - Satellite (Original Above & Beyond Mix)
7. Beatmouse - Lights Off Nights On
8. RigAudio - Two Minutes to Go
9. Logistics - Beatbox Master
10. Sub Focus - Airplane

(note: last one might not play, but hey, I'll try. :) )

Again, heck of a run (a whopping 73 shows??? Whoa! Sweet! :D ) but it looks like this is it and the show will be on hietus (whether or not it will be perminant, I have no idea)

Anyway, if you wanted to do an indipendant radio show (particularly in Canada) and want it to be Trance and Drum N' Bass (you know, because everyone is playing rock music and you want to be remotely different and unique ;) ), I hope this whole archive of shows will be of great usefulness. If not starting your own radio show, then I hope this list will be very useful in expanding your musical tastes beyond North American mainstream. :)

This shouldn't be the last post, but possibly the last playlist. Hope you enjoyed the shows! :D
